What’s New?
Here is the latest from St. John parish:
In response to requests from parishioners, our historic St. John Chapel will now be open for prayer from 8:00 AM to 3 PM, Monday through Thursday, and from 8:00 AM to Noon on Fridays. Please feel welcome to stop into the chapel and spent a moment in prayer. You may want to join us in the beautiful Morning Prayer at 8:00 AM or celebrate the Eucharist with us at 8:30 AM. The rosary is prayed following Mass. The remainder of the day the chapel is an oasis of calm for your private prayer.
ADORATION is coming to St. John Chapel! On Tuesdays from 9:00 AM to Noon the Blessed Sacrament will be exposed on the altar for your prayer. It is important that someone always be present when the sacrament is exposed, and to that end, sign-up slots for 30 minute time frames are being offered. A sign-up sheet is in the narthex today. Please feel welcome to come at any time for Adoration and prayer, but if you can adopt a regular time, please sign the sheet. A beginning date for Adoration will be announced in the bulletin.
Thanksgiving Food Project
The Poor Box collection for the weekend of November 8 & 9, will be used to support our annual K of C Thanksgiving Food Project. This community activity has been conducted by our Long Green Valley Council for 24 consecutive years. Last year, our food donations helped feed approximately 300 needy families and 285 individuals in the outreach programs of Beans & Bread, Missionaries of Charity – Gift of Hope Convent and Our Daily Bread Employment Center.
Your generous Poor Box donation next weekend will help to make this Thanksgiving a little brighter for the clients of these same charities again this year.
