2. Participation and Service Opportunities (Council Need for Member Help)
A 1st Degree will be conducted at Fr Wolfe Council on Monday, Feb 4th. Come to the Council Home by 6 PM if you would like to witness the degree exemplification and support new LGVC candidate Bill Zoli . We will car pool.

Our monthly Business Meeting has been advanced to the 1st Tuesday (5th) (this week) for February only. The usual date conflicted with the Pancake Supper on the 12th. Hope to see you there for the meeting, good food and fellowship.

The St John production of Jesus Christ Superstar will start on Thursday night at 6 PM with a Dinner, prepared and served by the Knights. We need some help with the Knight's portion:
  • If you can help set up the Hall with tables and chairs at 1 PM on Thursday , please stop by.
  • The cooking team has already been recruited and is organized.
  • We need servers at 5:30 PM so we can set up service lines, discuss the serving process and man our stations for the crowd that will arrive to eat at 6PM. Servers should wear black slacks and white shirts. During intermission we will serve dessert. 200 tickets were sold and there will be about another 40 including performers who will be fed (singing for their supper).
Officers are requested to come for an Officer Meeting on Friday evening the 8th.

Our District Second Degree team is seeking people in non-speaking parts. Send an email to Keith Marchiano kmarch52@verizon.net to offer your services.

3. Our Accomplishments
The St Johns School parents and staff could not say enough good things about the Knights team at their Catholic Schools Week Open House on January 30th. Tom Zaegel's team provided traffic and parking control in the morning, followed by coffee and sweets for parents in the Council Home. Then they picked up pre-ordered and pre-paid lunches for parents and students at McDonald's and Roma's. The parents came into the Council Home to pick up lunches and some also ate there. We controlled traffic when the children walked over to church and later returned to school, and we directed traffic as everyone left school for the day. The Knights made a lot of friends and we showed off our Council Home to possible renters. We had lots of help and Knights enjoyed  fraternity while working.

Six Members took their 3rd Degree at Dundalk Council on the 31st. Congratulations to Chip Anderson, John Reed, Ted Hartka, Ted Danecki, Nick Greaves and Tom Rowan Jr.

Our Super Bowl Party was a big hit with 21 fanatics in attendance. The Raven's Super Bowl Championship was a special celebratory evening for Baltimore that we celebrated together at the Council Home with cheering and high fives at each Ravens touchdown. We enjoyed great food thanks to Cassie Wenderoth, Chuck Bogdanowicz and Pat Donohue. Thanks to all who have supported our Tailgate parties this year.  Our tailgates have not only defrayed operational expenses of the Council Home facility, but more importantly these events built community and fraternity for shared interest in Raven's football.

Best of all, this fund raiser was conducted right here in our Council Home and with a modest amount of effort. The Council's annual Basketball Free Throw contest was Sunday afternoon (Jan 27th) at John Carroll HS. Thanks to John Canoles, Bob Renshaw and John Bushman for conducting the activity.

4. Coming Attractions
Our Council Valentines Day Party is on Saturday evening, February 16th after 5PM Mass at the Council Home. Dress is coat and tie. We limited attendance to the first 40 paid and we are almost sold out for this special event. Please call GK Joe Wenderoth at 410-592-9718 if you're interested to see if there are any seats left. We will have Valentines Day music and entertainment for all, and favors for the ladies along with an excellent buffet dinner. Attendees are asked to bring a wedding photo of the  Knight with his blushing Bride.

The Pancake Supper is Tuesday Night February 12th before Ash Wednesday. Let us know if you are coming to help.Lobby Night in Annapolis is on President's Day, February 18th. The Council is reserving a bus (capacity 40) to and from the event. For $10 you'll get a round trip, briefing by Maryland Catholic Conference, ( www.mdcathcon.org/ ) joewenderothsr@gmail.com to let me know you're coming and if anyone is coming with you, so we can reserve your seat.

Council Information Sessions in our wifi hot spot in the Council Home started in January. They will continue on a monthly or bi-monthly basis as interest dictates. The next attraction will be a review of the Council Web Site on Friday February 22nd at 8 PM by webmaster Bob Elliott. This will be a chance to learn about www.kofc8736.org features and capabilities and to offer feedback to Bob.

Hall Rentals: Have folks coming to visit for the Holidays but not enough room? Consider renting our Council Home for a family get together. Contact Grand Knight Joe Wenderoth 410-592-9718 or joewenderothsr@gmail.com to talk it over or reserve a date.

We will conduct some Fish Fry Fridays in March during Lent this year in conjunction with St Mark's in Fallston. Look forward to some good food. We'll need your help for this major fund raiser. Stay tuned.
