Subject: Take Action: Defend our conscience rights
Date: Monday, February 25, 2013, 7:03 PM

I'm excited to tell you that just minutes ago, a coalition of more than 40 pro-life groups from across the country launched www.Call2Conscience.com!

The Call2Conscience.com Campaign is working to mobilize as many Americans as possible to demand that Congress includes conscience & religious liberty protections in must-pass legislation.

>>> Take Action:
Tell your Representatives that conscience protections must be included in must-pass legislation.

After you've taken action, make sure to sign up for tomorrow's webcast, which will feature Rep. Diane Black, who is leading the charge for conscience and religious liberty in the House of Representatives.

The webcast will also feature other national leaders including our very own Hon. Marilyn Musgrave, Fr. Frank Pavone of Priests for Life, David Bereit of 40 Days for Life, and Alan Sears of Alliance Defending Freedom.

It is critical that YOU and your like-minded friends and family take action NOW.

You see, Congress will soon be considering must-pass legislation that will fund the federal government, and it is critical that
conscience protections are included in this legislation.

>>> Take Action: Tell your Representatives that conscience
protections must be included in must-pass legislation.

We must take a stand to ensure that all Americans are guaranteed
freedom of conscience in their daily lives and work.

The government has no business putting religious freedom on the negotiating table, or picking and choosing who is allowed to exercise their faith or moral convictions.

We must fight back, and we must fight back right now.

>>> It only takes a minute: Contact Congress.

And after you've taken action, please make sure to pass on this e-mail to as many of your like-minded friends and family so that they can take action too.

Thank you for standing up for conscience and religious liberty!

For Life,Marjorie Dannenfelser

Our monthly Business Meeting has been advanced to the 1st Tuesday (5th) (this week) for February only. The usual date conflicted with the Pancake Supper on the 12th. Hope to see you there for the meeting, good food and fellowship.

The St John production of Jesus Christ Superstar will start on Thursday night at 6 PM with a Dinner, prepared and served by the Knights. We need some help with the Knight's portion:
  • If you can help set up the Hall with tables and chairs at 1 PM on Thursday , please stop by.

Servers should wear black slacks and white shirts. During intermission we will serve dessert. 200 tickets were sold and there will be about another 40 including performers who will be fed (singing for their supper).

3. Our Accomplishments
The St Johns School parents and staff could not say enough good things about the Knights team at their Catholic Schools Week Open House on January 30th. Tom Zaegel's team provided traffic and parking control in the morning, followed by coffee and sweets for parents in the Council Home. Then they picked up pre-ordered and pre-paid lunches for parents and students at McDonald's and Roma's. The parents came into the Council Home to pick up lunches and some also ate there. We controlled traffic when the children walked over to church and later returned to school, and we directed traffic as everyone left school for the day. The Knights made a lot of friends and we showed off our Council Home to possible renters. We had lots of help and Knights enjoyed  fraternity while working.

Six Members took their 3rd Degree at Dundalk Council on the 31st. Congratulations to Chip Anderson, John Reed, Ted Hartka, Ted Danecki, Nick Greaves and Tom Rowan Jr.

Our Super Bowl Party was a big hit with 21 fanatics in attendance. The Raven's Super Bowl Championship was a special celebratory evening for Baltimore that we celebrated together at the Council Home with cheering and high fives at each Ravens touchdown. We enjoyed great food thanks to Cassie Wenderoth, Chuck Bogdanowicz and Pat Donohue. Thanks to all who have supported our Tailgate parties this year.  Our tailgates have not only defrayed operational expenses of the Council Home facility, but more importantly these events built community and fraternity for shared interest in Raven's football.

Best of all, this fund raiser was conducted right here in our Council Home and with a modest amount of effort. The Council's annual Basketball Free Throw contest was Sunday afternoon (Jan 27th) at John Carroll HS. Thanks to John Canoles, Bob Renshaw and John Bushman for conducting the activity.

4. Coming Attractions
Our Council Valentines Day Party is on Saturday evening, February 16th after 5PM Mass at the Council Home. Dress is coat and tie. We limited attendance to the first 40 paid and we are almost sold out for this special event. Please call GK Joe Wenderoth at 410-592-9718 if you're interested to see if there are any seats left. We will have Valentines Day music and entertainment for all, and favors for the ladies along with an excellent buffet dinner. Attendees are asked to bring a wedding photo of the  Knight with his blushing Bride.

The Pancake Supper is Tuesday Night February 12th before Ash Wednesday. Let us know if you are coming to help.Lobby Night in Annapolis is on President's Day, February 18th. The Council is reserving a bus (capacity 40) to and from the event. For $10 you'll get a round trip, briefing by Maryland Catholic Conference, ( www.mdcathcon.org/ ) joewenderothsr@gmail.com to let me know you're coming and if anyone is coming with you, so we can reserve your seat.
